The Festival’s programming and attractions will appeal to all ages and cultures. Highlights include:
The Richmond Harvest Fest Culinary Stage, presented by Richberry Group and Mayberry Farms, looks to bring the farm to the table with demonstrations on everyone’s favourite fall foods . Experts will cover everything from brunch to dinner including tips and tricks even Pinterest would be jealous of. And best of all, all demonstrations will include the fall favourite, cranberries!
Main stage featuring home grown talent
Take a break from the festivities, sit back and relax while listening to local musicians and entertainers on the Main stage. Stage performances will include a headline artist. Buskers and pop up demonstration areas will also be placed throughout the festival site.
Farmers and Artisans Marketplace
Come meet the people who grow our food and keep traditional arts and crafts alive. Richmond farmers will be on site with locally grown fresh veggies and fruit for sale. Local artisans and community groups will also be on hand to talk about their work and with a unique selection of handmade products for sale.
In addition to cooking demonstrations and sampling, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of creative food from a wide-variety of local vendors.
Children’s area for little farmers
Children of all ages will enjoy agriculture related activities and educational opportunities including take home crafts, traditional harvest festival children’s games, and more. Visitors to this area will learn more about how things grow, what types of activities happen on a typical farm, and where our food comes from.
Agricultural and gardening displays and hands-on learning opportunities
Want to improve your gardening skills and learn more about how food grows? There will be ample opportunities to do so throughout the festival site.
Exhibits and displays that celebrate Richmond’s agricultural past, present and future
While Richmond has a long history of agriculture, the nature of production has evolved over time, and will continue to evolve in the future. Visitors to the festival will learn more about the fascinating history of agriculture, as well as the emerging technologies that will shape our future farms.
Art installations that celebrate food and farms
Visitors will see Garden City Lands transformed with creative installations and site décor that celebrates Richmond’s Growing Community.
The Richmond Harvest Fest Wagon Ride, provided by Richmond Country Farms, is a 10-minute tractor-pulled ride on a covered wagon through the amazing Garden City Lands. The ride will be accompanied by a musician to set a festive atmosphere. Wagon Rides are free but space is limited. The rides are one-way, and pick-up and drop-off will happen at either end of the route.
